G1 Group Announce Host Of Initiatives To Support & Reward NHS Workers

Scottish based hospitality group G1 have today announced a range of initiatives which they say are designed to recognise and reward the sacrifice that NHS workers are making, with many working flat out due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The first is a practical solution designed to help key workers get essential grocery items which they may be hard pushed to find due to shift work- G1 have said that their chain of One O One Convenience Stores are working with their suppliers to provide essentials packs to a total of one hundred and one NHS workers, which will be delivered to different hospitals all over Glasgow. The bags will contain milk, bread, eggs and some fresh produce, alongside some little treats to lift the spirits.

Meanwhile, G1 have made some long term promises to the NHS via their various venues all over the country. Their flagship venue, The Corinthian Club in Glasgow, has already pledged to throw a huge free party for the workers, with the venue set to provide the backdrop for a night of complimentary food, drinks, and entertainment. The Group have confirmed it will absorb the cost of the evening.

Elsewhere, G1 have also drawn up plans for a “Heroes Card”- a rewards scheme aimed specifically at those key workers who are currently on the ground providing key work to treat the sick and keep the country moving. The exclusive discount card will guarantee 20% food discount and special drinks offers alongside a host of additional perks for the remainder of 2020, with G1 encouraging people to stay tuned to its websites and social media channels for a full announcement in the coming weeks.

Lesley Welsh, Chief Operating Officer for G1, said of the announcements-

“Nobody can underestimate how much we owe to our NHS Workers, Police Officers, Teachers and Volunteers for the sacrifices they have already and will continue to make in the next few months. G1 and One O One Convenience are fully committed to recognising these people as heroes within our communities.”
